We currently have an exciting new opportunity for a Field Technician within our Building Finishing division to be part of a passionate technical team to help deliver comprehensive and professional facade solutions.

To provide systematic evaluation of technical requirements and develop and deliver technical solutions of varying degrees of complexity to meet customer requirements, including:

  • Provide full technical support on live sites to the customer base, assess project details on live sites and information to enable the customers deliver successful projects.
  • Work in a passionate technical team and develop tools to assist and improve the service to create an efficient, best in class technical support function.
  • Research and gain early knowledge of new initiatives / market changes, competitor products and systems and get Sika Building Finishing at the forefront of these to become the preferred products and systems of choice.
  • Working close with the commercial teams help develop strong relationships with the contractor and distributor network. Assist in regional product demonstrations showcasing the Sika Building Finishing offering.
  • Provide support (where required) to the Sika Training Academies.
  • Provide support (where required) to other divisions within Sika and also assist in product development in trialling new products and aiding in the construction of test rigs

You will be joining an experienced technical department for Building Finishing with a wide range of knowledge and experience. The Building Finishing Technical team are there to support when needed. Your expertise - Our strength

  • Proven experience as a Field Technician  or in a similar role
  • Ability to understand drawings.
  • Existing product knowledge within the render and EWI systems industries.
  • An understanding of U Values and Condensation Risks.
  • An understanding of PAS 2030 and PAS 2035 is preferable.
  • Excellent communication skills – Presentation and interaction skills with the ability to demonstrate product usage and benefits
  • Qualification to NVQ level 2 is preferable along with a sound understanding of how buildings are put together.
  • Be able to respond well under pressure and be resilient.
  • Be able to handle complaints and be methodical in capturing key data.
  • Ability to use CRM systems for linking the technical submission to the project.
  • Organisational and leadership abilities
